Why neo4j will never catch on
Dan McDaniel
I am huge fan of the potential of graphing DataBases. The issue that stops its adoption is that is to hard to get a demo going that the business would find meaningful with the tool. Example, working in Neo4j Aura I thought great a platform that we can get some actual company data that will resonate with the executives. Go to upload our CSV file and it doesnt work. The folks that run Neo4j need to understand that if you dont make it easier for users to put together visible use cases it wont move much further. Sad to say but as an executive that runs large data teams I cannot sell this as something to invest in as I cannot demonstrate its value at the leadership table.

I have been telling them this for a year as I work in healthcare and the free version of aura db used to be okay and now just does not work. I load up a simple csv with 6 nodes and 5 edges and nodes do not show the true data inside them. There are not even any new videos to show how to use the new version in the import section. Again, I am a physician and experience machine learning practitioner and data scientist and sadly now done with these guys as they just don't care

Can you share more details on the files you're having difficulties seeing the true contents of?

Can you make your feedback a bit more concrete please? What didn't work? We can only improve things for folks if we get product feedback.
If you're an executive that runs a large data team, then the "beginner/free"-self-serve offering is probably not for you and you should chat with one of our dedicated field engineers and reps to determine what's best suited for you?
